Italy: Christmas Eve with Il Volo in Jerusalem

On Christmas eve, the Italian classic trio, Il Volo, held a Christmas themed concert in Jerusalem. The concert was aired on Canale 5, one of the leading private channels in Italy.



Il Volo dedicated the concert to all war-torn countries around the globe.


Among the songs they performed during the concert were O Holy Night, War is Over, All By Myself, Jingle Bells, O Tannnenbaum, Silent Night, Hallelujah and Can't Help Falling in Love.

 

Il Volo at the Eurovision


Il Volo represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with Grande Amore and finished in the third place after Polina Gagarina's A Million Voices (Russia) and Måns Zelmerlow's Heroes (Sweden).


 

History: Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest


Italy was among the first countries to kick off the Contest in 1956. They participated 47 times in the contest but were absent for 13 consecutive years between 1998 and 2010. They won the contest 3 times with Non ho l'etá (Gigliola Cinquetti, 1964), Insieme: 1992 (Toto Cutugno, 1990) and Zitti e Buoni (Måneskin, 2021).
